The sculpture Dante’s vision shows a portrait with a bust and a hand. Dante’s profile has classic proportions, but in the central axis, the face narrows, as if the portrayed person disappeared or symbolically moved to another space. Perhaps it is the space of the genius poet’s imagination from which the vision contained in the Divine Comedy comes?

The sculpture is part of an ever-expanding series of works that I am preparing in collaboration with the Spanish painter Jordi Diaz Alaman. The works of both artists are to be presented in Italy and Spain at next year’s series of exhibitions to pay tribute to Dante Alighieri on the 700th anniversary of his death. The concept of the exhibition assumes placing a figure or a portrait of Dante surrounded by painterly interpretations of scenes from Hell.
