Jerzy Fober

He was born in 1959 in Warsaw.
In the years 1974-1979 he studied at the State Secondary School of Fine Arts. Antoni Kenar in Zakopane.
In the years 1979-1984 he studied at the Faculty of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the studio of professor Stanisław Kulon, where in 1984 he received a distinction for his diploma thesis Deposition to the grave. In 1982, while still a student, together with Andrzej Szarek and Czesław Podleśny, he founded an artistic group … who are you. He participated in the group’s exhibitions until 1990.
Since 1986 he has been involved in artistic didactics. In 2000 he was awarded the title of Professor of Fine Arts.
Multiple scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and Art in 1985, 1987, 1991, 1999 and 2004.
His sculptures are in the collections:
The National Museum in Krakow, the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko, the District Museum in Bielsko-Biała, the Museum of Contemporary Sacred Art in Kielce, the Collection of Contemporary Art of the city of Lucerne (Switzerland), the Catholic University of Lublin in Lublin, the City of Wrocław – Brick Bastion, the Collection of the Foundation “POGRANICZE ”In Sejny, private collections in Poland, Canada, Germany, Great Britain and Italy.
He lives and works in Cieszyn.
