Tomasz Górnicki

(born 1986) A graduate of the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw – in 2010 he graduated with honors in the studio of Janusz Antoni Pastwa. He is one of the most interesting sculptors of the young generation in Poland, combining classical, workshop education with creation, imagination and courage in the field of aesthetic experiments. In his work, he moves fluently within techniques and materials, alternately working in marble, clay, bronze and steel. He often parted ways with his works in an unusual way, leaving them in public space, treating this form of street art as an antidote to the material aspect of artistic creativity: “Jung writes about it. About cutting the umbilical cord. When I hang something on the wall in the street, I take a step back and I am just an observer from now on. I am no longer the owner. “
